Blake Sign Co. recently had the pleasure of manufacturing and installing the full statutory, wayfinding and identification package at Beach Life, Alexandra Headland.
Adam Blake takes us through the complexities of a large residential development installation on the Sunshine Coast – providing a premium result for Beach Life.
The Cube Developments project, completed by McNab Constructions is the latest prestigious architecturally designed development in arguably Alexandra Headland’s best position, capturing stunning ocean and lake views.
Contracted by McNab Constructions, the Blake Sign Co. team took concept sketches and architectural renders and created a full specification and signage package to meet the client’s requirements. Finishing all of the standard building requirements (like fire statutory and service cupboards) in simple yet effective vinyl cut lettering, we then went all out with the identification signage. Atop the roofline of the building at the front and rear is three-dimensional fabricated marine grade stainless steel lettering, the front elevation being illuminated with internal LED lighting.
Many challenges were faced with the signage installation, specifically the proximity to the ocean, we therefore needed to ensure the material and finishes were up to the task of the coastal battering it will receive. Further to this were limited height access options due to the tight space at the front of the development, the best solution settled on, was to carry out the installation from a ‘Man Box’ suspended by the tower crane… not for the faint of heart.
All of our team are fully qualified to perform working at heights installation, whether from Boom or Scissor Lift or like this a ‘Man Box’. One thing’s for sure, it was one of the most picturesque locations we have had the pleasure of completing an installation.
